Activities Poetic Prayer

If amenable to thy will God let it be,
That somehow me and others
Are drawn closer to thee through my activities
Today and in the future
And if amenable to thy will God let it be,
That somehow thy name is hallowed through activities
Of mine today and in the future
Help me to become wise
When I am active
And help me to apply
The wisdom in me
To activities
that I engage in
I ask these things of thee God in the name
Of thy Son called Yayzoos in scripture
And known in the world as Hayzoos and Jesus
In obedience to divinely ordained
Exclusions from benedictions and prayers
What I ask for me I ask for all places

Stress-creating Phone Calls from Moonrabbit the Hindu

I was looking forwards to a Sunday of peace quiet rest & thinking about religious stuff. But predictably, 215 PM, such was interrupted by the phone ringing like a bomb going off. It was the Hindu I call Moonrabbit. As usual: his voice was loud & exaggeratedly deep; he sounded like a 12-yr old impersonating a Black gangster. I picked up the phone.

He announced he had an argument with his father; he had been confrontational with his dad in a way his brother never could get away with. He repeated what he had said to me last night when he had called, regarding his going to the Indian store to buy ingredients to cook his "Sambar". He repeated the long list of  ingredients he had bought.

I attempted empathetic conversation re his dad's defects, but he interrupted with nonstop verbal noise. I honestly told him that as usual (doing something he's been asked 100 times not to do) he was interrupting me whenever I spoke. He said, "You're lying!". Honestly I replied: "You're lying about me lying...You interrupted me 5 times in the past 3 minutes".

I tried to explain to him that a social-interaction does not consist of him being a show on a stage and the other person the audience (we've tried to explain such to him dozens of times), but he interrupted me with nonstop verbal noise. Then he erupted: "I'm way more social than you. Go to hell".  And slammed down the phone.

I was planning on explaining to him that things are difficult & dangerous for his dad's health because his dad is 85 years old, but I never got the chance because he hung up.

Re his boast about being social: 1) he presumes to know much re my social-life. 2) He equates being social, with knowing HOW to be social.

30 minutes after the 1st call of theday, the phone rang again, sounding like a bomb going off. It was Moonrabbit again. I did not answer. As usual he left a long loud message in the machine. This time the complaint was: when he calls me or his father or Chicago-pal 'Rudofsky', we want to talk and dislike him doing all the talking. And the proclamation was: we're all obligated to listen & not talk while he talks because he has called us as opposed to us having called him. Whereas in reality, what would be more reasonable: when A calls B, the social-interaction should consist primarily of A listening & B speaking.

Moonrabbit does not understand, that people get pleasure out of the give & take of conversation & find just listening to be boring depressing tiring stressful. Moonrabbit, in combination with my experiences with other Hindus, makes it seem like Hindus hypocritically deny those they socially interact with, the same pleasures they themselves get out of the social-interactions.

Rhyming syllable-balanced Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be the name
Thy kingdom come thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give to us this day
Our bread and forgive our sins
Even as we now forgive
Those who have trespassed against us
Lead us not into temptation
Deliver us from evil
Thine is the kingdom  the power
the Glory forever and ever

Day of Rest Poetic Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven
Help me to be wise regarding
Which activities can be done
On days when we should be resting
This I ask in the name of thy Son
Whose name in scripture is Christos Yayzoos
Whose name on earth is Jesus and Hayzoos

PC System-Boot Failure Solution Quick & Simple

Attempting to master the 'resolution' DPI/PPI aspect of photography, I downloaded 'ScreenHunter 6.0 Free' (support@wisdom-soft.com); I wanted to be able to find out things re the properties of a selected area of an image, such as area-size and pixel-count.

After I downloaded 'ScreenHunter 6.0 Free', I experienced terrifying PC-restart-failures. A couple of steps into the restart-process, the screen went black while a white cursor flashed in the upper left hand corner.  This re-occurred repeatedly after using the PC-button to restart the PC.

On keyboard I hit ctrl-alt-delete because such has at times solved such situations.  The twice repeated-result: a message in white font came on to the black monitor screen:

"Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS
Version 1.10 A05

Dell System Optiplex GX260 Series
www.dell.com
Alert! Previous attempts at booting this system have failed at checkpoint [AUX]. For help in resolving this problem, please note this checkpoint and contact Dell Technical Support".

Sadly I envisioned expending loads of time energy money & suffering depression fatigue stress & boredom: unplugging the PC, taking it to the Chinese-American geniuses at Compustar, waiting, paying, bringing the big heavy Optiplex desktop PC back home, replugging.

But remembering that previously simply unplugging everything connected to the PC had fixed this kind of problem, & noting the 'AUX' in the reboot-failure-notice, I unplugged headphones, modem, & USB-port from the PC, restarted. The restart progressed smoothly to where I had to use the mouse to choose the account. I reconnected the PC to the USB-hub that connects to the USB-mouse. The mouse worked & I re-entered my desktop and was able to use the PC. Next I reconnected the ISP modem to the PC & regained internet access in 2 minutes.

I figure taking the PC to the repairman, bringing it home, reconnecting it would have (counting time as money) cost me ~$800, in addition to stress depression fatigue and boredom.

Grilled Pork Chops Marinated in Papaya Juice & Tamarind

Equipment: Indoor Iron Griddle

Meat: Pork Loin Center-cut Bone-in Pork Chop, approx 1.5" thick

Rub Tamarind Paste & Papaya Juice into Pork Chop, place chop in plastic bag, place in frig. Have at least an exhaust fan running in window before starting. Put hickory chips, black peppercorns, garlic pieces, crushed red pepper, and enough spring water to cover in griddle and turn up heat full blast. When water starts to boil and steam, put pork chop on grill above steaming water, for 3 mins a side, 1 min covered with a pot-lid. When water has boiled off, sprinkle fresh-ground dry barbecue seasoning in pan,  push hickory chips etc in griddle together to form a bed, & cook pork-chop 4 mins a side on hickory-chip bed, 1 min/side covered by pot lid resting on top of griddle. Then when griddle temp is over 600 degrees F, place pork-chop directly on griddle & cook for 6 mins per side, 1 min per side covered by pot lid resting on griddle. Remove from griddle put on plate, garnish with red-palm-oil & fresh-ground sea-salt. Wait 5 minutes before eating.

I ran the above recipe but with the minutes per phase at a lesser value, and still got an excellent result, except for the meat nearest the bone being perhaps too pink for some people's taste. I expect the mins per phase in the recipe provided above would be even better. Though just a pork chop the meat tasted like a high-class cut of meat. It tasted like a 5-star hotel pork-chop. It had a definite charcoal-grilled or gas-grilled or wood-grilled aroma and taste to it. And of course it was very digestible and very nutritious. Perhaps a little barbecue sauce added to the plate as a dip would have made it taste even better.
