World Cup Day 5 Notes --France vs SUI, Brazil vs Croatia
France and SUI tied 0-0. Brazil 1-0 beat Croatia. Korea 2-1 beat Togo
FIRST HALF France vs SUI
1 The Frenchman was at the left inside position near the SUI right goalpost. A ball flew towards him in the air. He trapped the ball well, but then he turned a ball he could have flown with, doing an aerial dribble the ball not touching the ground, into a rolling ground ball, and then he put a lame cross over the middle that missed its target by several yards.
2 SUI hit the left goalpost of France--the Swiss-man and the ball were both moving towards the middle in front of the French goal, the ball was in the air, The Swiss forward hit it with the outside of his right foot, the ball hit France's left goalpost.
This forward then flubbed the rebound off the goalpost. I was thinking, had I been in his place my ability to sprint while air dribbling the ball might have paid off, because when I sprint while air dribbling the ball, I am sort of sending short lob passes to myself, with the ball and me traveling in the same direction.
3 A Croatia forward muffed an air ball on a one touch volley attempt. I was thinking, with a little adaptation in terms of drilling at intitiating air-dribbling starting with a team-mate passing me the ball, as opposed to the way I drill now flicking the stationary ball up for myself, I could get to the point where I would get the ball from the team mate in the air and then move a few yards with it air dribbling it before passing or shooting.
4 A French player got a pass, he stopped the ball, swivelled and shot. The ball went straight at the goalie, plus above the crossbar. I was thinking there were two things wrong with his shot--one the ball was straight at the goalie and two the ball went a few yards above the horizontal crossbar. Yet these guys act as is they should get a cookie or a brownie point for that kind of shot. How about a spanking? These guys do alot of things well, but then when they are ten to fifteen yards away from the enemy goal and have a clear shot, they miss the goal entirely, or hit it straight at the goalie, then they expect cookies and brownie points for such pathetic attempts. If they could air-dribble a little before shooting perhaps they would do better you ca'nt do much worse than just fire the ball wide of the goal, over the goal, or straight at the goalie, ending up scoring zero goals the entire game.
5 France shot the ball right at the goalie again from less than 20 yds out.
6 A French forward had a one on one with the SUI goalie, a fast break type situation, less than twelve yards from the middle of the SUI goal-line, instead of attempting to beat the goalie or shoot, he unaccountable passed into the middle and backwards, creating an awkward situation for the Frenchman getting the ball, the Frenchman getting the ball did not flip it in the air though he could have, he just took an awkward shot that went straight at the goalie. Hello!!! Monsieur, actually, you do not get a half a goal for shooting the ball at the opposing goalie.
7 SUI forwards displayed some impressive looking moves, their left and right feet missing the ball as a way of feinting, going past the ball, without changing the direction of the ball, while they and the ball moved forwards. Impressive looking as it was they ended up losing the ball to the French defenders.
8 Yet again France shot the ball straight at the opposing goalie from less then twenty yards out.
9 France executed a slick backwards pass on offense but the end result, Nadda!
10 Yet again France shoots from less than twenty, the ball goes right at the goalie.
11 France unleashed a cross into the middle that widely missed its target.
12 A mistake in mythology is that the Ganges is considered a girl. No I think it is a boy. Just my imagination maybe, the idea the Ganges in sacred spiritual form (nothing to actually swim or go boating in) could sometimes be felt at the World Cup games.
You could call the Ganges the river of the indo-europeans, who are a people that should be treated as at least equals of other races, whereas as what you have is the indo-europeans being betrayed by their effetes who call themselves elites, the indo-european is always considered the guilty party in inter-racial disputes, even amongst his own people. Seems weird, unfair and unholy, there are lots of charming indo-european boys, the Ganges personifies them. Heck it could'nt be the Tigris or the Euphrates those seem more like "Semitic" rivers. The river of the indo-europeans must be the Ganges. It can appear in sacred invisible spirit form that is feltm perhaps.
13 Air dribbling in general for me, is like getting short lob passes from my self, it does not make me expert at trapping long balls that fly towards me in the air, but there are some aspects in which I excel in air dribbling, aspects which can be plugged into what I do with the ball when I get it from others rolling, bouncing or flying in the air. I can do things like chase down a ball that is lobbed in front of me, trap the ball, and then come to a halt or move forward at a slow or fast speed in some direction, all without letting the ball touch the ground and keeping it close to the body. I feel like in the France Switzerland game there were many times when a little air dribbling of a ball by a player who gets the ball would have gotten the team at least closer to scoring a goal. I can do amazing things with balls that are like long high passes sailing in front of me that I chase down with air dribbling, but I realize I would benefit from a few hours of balls being passed to me at least once a minute in various ways so I can brush up on handling certain types of balls. I do not bother with drills such as bouncing the ball off a wall and then dealing with initiating a flight off the rebound, maybe I should put more time into such, but such will always be different from getting a ball passed to oneself by a team-mate. Looking at what I can do with air balls that are lobbed high in front of me that I chase down on a sprint, it does not seem that it would be a huge step translating such into handling air balls passed to me from team mates in situations where the ball and I are not traveling in the same direction.
14 A cross by SUI missed its target by alot.
15 A French forward had a big fat juicy opportunity to initiate a flight with the ball, he was 15 yds from the goal, the ball rolled on the ground to him from in front of and to the side of him, but the Frenchman simply shot the ball the first time he touched it, it completely missed the goal by at least 3 yards. But hey in the eyes of the simpletons such looks cool, fierce, world class, duh wow, did you see how fast that ball was moving???
HALFTIME
SECOND HALF
16 Watching France and SUI, I was thinking, this is weird talk, the USA effetes say things like, "the future is this, the future is that"; and then they resign themselves to this future that they have predicted, to align themselves with this future; they fail to make any attempt to insure any kind of future for their own people. I was thinking while watching France vs SUI, such an attitude is not tolerated in the private sector. What corporation executive, gets away with simply resigning himself to the fact that his company will go bankrupt while the value of its stock declines 99 percent, and then therefore taking no steps to prevent its bankruptcy, so as to align himself with the future that he sees on its way? What coach, decides defeat is inevitable, and so proceeds to make no attempts to win victory?
17 An SUI player close to the French goal passed the ball straight to a defender, again we see the wonderful outcome when players simply pass away the ball the first time they touch it.
18 A French player did an excellent job of trapping a ball that rocketed at him in the air chest high like a bullet, he used his foot, but then he immediately grounded the ball and lost it.
19 SUI player muffed a volley header near the France goal.
20 a French player in SUI territory approx 45 yds from the SUI goal, air dribbled the ball a couple of yards, got off a pass, but the pass he got off went straight to an opposing player. But at least he gets the idea.
21 a Frenchman, just about twelve yards from the SUI goal, got the ball on a roll, shot it the first time he touched it, completely missed the goal!!!
22 About 25-30 yards away from the SUI goal, France had plenty of chances to initiate air dribbling runs, did not do such.
23 #8 on France, had a juicy change to do a little air dribbling before shooting, volleyed in the shot the first time he touched the ball, completely missed the goal, I felt he could have commenced an air dribble.
24 An SUI player again missed attempting to head in a cross. I was thinking I could get to the point where on such plays I head the ball not at the goal but a couple of yards away from myself and then head it again or kick it.
BRAZIL VS CROATIA
FIRST HALF
My first look at Brazil for years.
1 First thing I noticed, was Brazil, takes long distance shots, they are the first team I
have seen that has actual real ability with such long distance shots. So for them it makes sense. But the other teams who lack real actual ability with such long distance shots, emulate Brazil on its long distance shots. What the emulators fail to realize, is that one aspect of actual Brazilian long distance shooting ability is the way they use the movement of the ball prior to the time they kick it, the way they volley it as it rolls or on the bounce so as to get extra oomph into the kick.
2 Right before Kaka scored for Brazil, I was thinking that Brazil's offense is about to score, even though they had gone at least 40 minutes with no goal against Croatia. I was thinking this would happen because Brazil's offense takes it easy, it is allowed to take it easy by its coaches; Brazil's offense is allowed their dignity, not constantly nagged and harassed into running their tails off, retreating to help out on defense, emphasis on aerobic long distance skinny jackrabbit type stuff. Thus the Brazil offense is rested, and thus when Brazil gets possession of the ball, it has players in position soas to generate an attack.
3 I noticed that Kaka stuttered a little with the ball, lazily rolled it a couple of yards before shooting. He scored. Whereas I have noticed with regards to the failures,
they shoot the ball the first time they touch it with their foot.
4 The Croatia right fullback was impressive. In his own corner, he had his back to the opposing player while moving forwards with the ball. He shot his left foot forward missing the ball with a feint, while at the same time his right foot flicked the ball backwards to the goalie.
SECOND HALF
5 Croatia fired the ball straight at the Brazil goalie.
6 Two more shots from in close by Croatia straight at the Brazil goalie
7 Brazil cross into middle was well placed, not merely symbolic as many of these crosses in the World Cup are. But the player who got the cross merely kicked it straight at the goalie.
8 Croatia fired a shot directly into the defense from in close
9 Croatia missed very high and wide on a shot from in close.
10 The panic and the fear generated in players such as Croatians by angry moron spectators and coaches, results in premature shots, stereotypical behaviour, that looks good to simple minds. But the alternatives to such failed approaches are not that complex, not that demanding in terms of skills.
11 Croatia fires a shot straight at the Brazil goalie again, probably looked good to the simpletons.
Problem is, defenders block off certain shotpaths, the goalie blocks off paths not blocked off by defenders, thus simply shooting where a defender is not, sends the ball straight to the goalie. Now you players who do this, write on the blackboard 100 times, "A shot caught by the goalie is not worth half a goal...".
12 The Brazilian middle distance and long distance passes have accuracy. Amazing how many World Cuppers look highly professional except seems they would not be able to hit a bus with a shot or a pass.
Korea vs Togo
I did not see this game, just the highlights.
1 Korean dribbles backwards at angle, sort of in 4:00 angle in fighter pilot lingo; then swivels fires powerful shot, impressive. To catch a ball going backwards and fire off a powerful accurate shot, that is something.
Togo player got a ball rolling towards him, shot immediately, missed very high and wide, from 16 yards. He could have flippped the ball up in the air for some aerial theatrics first. What he did accomplished nothing. Seemed his mind was on imbeciles who are impressed by hard shots that miss by several yards.
FIRST HALF France vs SUI
1 The Frenchman was at the left inside position near the SUI right goalpost. A ball flew towards him in the air.
