Art of attaining 'natural high', as reported by a mind on a 'natural high'

This is a slightly edited copy of an email I sent to an old friend I met at the Hampton Inn in Natick Friday afternoon right before he left for a flight to England where he works:

Mark Nash (Nash):

... Yea, David Virgil, (named) in honor of the men genetically descended from the ancient Israelites who became Christian when Christ was alive, and became part of the Christian community.

I fell asleep friday evening after seeing you at the hotel in Natick Mass, woke up saturday morning 6 AM, studied relational vs hierarchical vs other databases all day (Larry Ellison was a relational database pioneer from the South shore area of Chicago that you are from, Ellison owns Oracle, Oracle acquired Peoplesoft), fell asleep 6 PM Saturday evening, woke up about midnight sat night, got on the computer sunday morning about 2 AM EST (eastern standard time, Boston time). Saturday evening as I was falling asleep I felt as if I was in an inspired state of mind, I felt as if this inspired state of mind was connected with having met with you at the hotel.

In the inspired state of mind, thoughts came into my mind, such as:

The magic in life in part arises from being emotional and spirited; the magic in life is impeded if one develops the habit of feeling angry at persons one has been mistreated by; the magic in life is impeded if one develops the habit of thinking about persons and institutions one has been mistreated by; the magic in life at least in part arises from being good and nice and humble and friendly with friends; the magic in life at least in part arises from idealism and admiration for persons who are admired for their ethics and their conduct; when the magic in life is impeded due to thinking too much about those who mistreat us and being too angry with them, this leads to forgetting about how to put magic in one's life; the magic in life at least in part arises from enjoying being liked by friends; the magic in life at least in part arises from realizing that sin, and the guilt of past sins, is not the only thing that exists within us, there also exists within us something that is not evil; the magic in a man's life is impeded when the society around him discriminates against him on the grounds of his gender; the magic in life is impeded when we allow slanderers and rumor-mongerers to separate us from our friends;

We can combine the good qualities of our youth that we have lost or gotten worse in terms of, with the good qualities of out adult days that we have developed that we lacked in our youth, we can recover the good qualities of our youth that we have lost while holding on to the good qualities of our adult-hood that did not characterize us in our youth; we can combine the innocence of youth with the good cheer of adult-hood, we can rid ourselve of the gloominess of youth, we can rid ourselves of the crabbiness of adulthood; while regaining a good quality we have lost as adults that we had in youth which is a certain calm even-temperedness, we can hold on to the good quality we lacked in our youth which is that we now appreciate things we took for granted when we were young;

The magic in life can be impeded if we in our inner psychology over-emphasize intellectual and athletic achievements; we can be infected by those around us with imperfections such as becoming machine-like due to overemphasis of the student-athlete ideal; we can be forgiven by God for sins that in our minds seemed to be almost unforgivable or unforgivable; we can be forgiven by God for sins that we have committed that were such that we knew that we were doing something wrong when we committed the sin; why there exist passages in the Bible that make us feel we have committed unforgivable or almost unforgivable sins when God is still forgiving, is a mystery (by almost unforgivable sins I mean sins such that although finally making it to heaven there would still exist much punishment here on earth and/or in the afterlife);

The magic in life is impeded when our government which used to be our friend on our side becomes something similar to an enemy; even when the government turns from friend to similar-to-enemy, there can still be magic in our lives; we can overcome in the sense of not allowing a low quality to government to impede the inner spirit-emotion-magic in our lives; a government that is our loyal friend enhances facilitates and strengthens the magic in our lives; when government is admirable and honorable we get used to it and fail to appreciate it and be thankful for it and then we lose this good government and no longer have good government.

These thoughts ran through my head as I was in this inspired state of mind saturday evening. What did this inspired state of mind feel like? It felt like: relaxed; happy; social; feeling forgiven by God; simple-minded, child-like like an honorable teenager; mentally focused on relaxing happy thoughts; inspired. It felt like what the hippies would call a "good trip". Scientifically speaking, it occurred about twelve hours after waking up at 6 AM Saturday morning, after a night of sound restful sleep that occurred after having been awake for about 26 hours without sleeping.
